So thatвЂ™s where weвЂ™ve got to.CuteDJ is the most powerful and versatile DJ software on market. The white front door IвЂ™ve decided to powder coat, to give a more robust finish.

IвЂ™ve found a local guy who has agreed to do the work, and respray the main body of the cabinet for me. The correct matched RAL paint codes can be found online with a bit of hunting around, so matching up paint colours to the originals shouldnвЂ™t be a problem. But given everything has been stripped and needs completely respraying (and properly this time!), I might as well go for a colour I want. I guess we could debate this вЂ“ the original colour was pink, and thereвЂ™s an argument to keep it that way. Of the three options available, IвЂ™ve decided to go with the blue/turquoise colour. HereвЂ™s the test: Vertical on the left, horizontal on the right. All I have to do is unscrew four bolts, turn the monitor, rehang the new 17вЂі monitor onto the other set of opposite screws, and reattach the bolts. That new square mounting plate bracket will allow me to quickly rotate the monitor to play vertical shooters and horizontal scrolling games all in the same cabinet. Our new mounting plate has been welded to the remains of the old mount A few days later they called to say the work was done and I could pick up: They were able to do both jobs for me as a favour (and at a great price), and in the process, repair the damaged control panel. So armed with my monitor plans and cabinet parts, I was able to approach a local company specialising in metalwork and shot-blasting. A lot of measurements and head scratching later, I was happy with what I came up with, and was able to draw a crude design of what I needed. Using the monitor frameвЂ™s mounting holes I was able to measure the distances required in order for this to work when our new mounting plate is welded to the cabinet on whatвЂ™s left of the existing runner mounts. It will need eight screws that will allow the monitor itself to be hung either vertically (left picture) or horizontally (right picture). The dark yellow square will be a new mounting plate that has to be welded securely and centrally in the cab, and be the right size to accommodate the new 17вЂі monitor and its frame. This is the Hantarex monitor frame that I removed from the screen, and used it as a template to design a new mounting plate that would have to be built from scratch and welded into the cabinetвЂ¦ So this is basically what I want to get to. I mean it works, and if you didnвЂ™t know better, you might not think anything was amissвЂ¦ Despite initial appearances, this is a bit of a disaster. They didnвЂ™t even bother removing it first!ДЇurthermore, that control panel doesnвЂ™t look right at all. You can even see the original вЂњCapcomвЂќ logo sideart is still visible underneath.

In short, someone (probably a Japanese operator), decided to go at the cabinet with a white spray can, and then added the red and blue dots all over the place. ItвЂ™s hard to imagine what the thought process was here. However, this is what was on offer: HmmвЂ¦.somethings not right here! But late last year, what should appear for sale? A Mini Cute project over here in the UK! Suffice to say, my interest was piqued. Having pretty much given up the idea of getting my hands on one, I figured I was out of the market.
